The long and winding road: From its northern extremity to its southern tip, Chile stretches almost four thousand kilometres in length. The photo shoot for the Guide to Chile had me travel the entire distance overland, from the Peruvian boarder down to Ushuaia over looking the wild southern oceans towards Cape Horn. Chile's extensive public transport service is ultra modern, super efficient and extremely comfortable, until you hit Patagonia, where it becomes almost non-existent. Luxury coaches are exchanged for a battered white minibus that rattles back and forth along the broken roads every other day, except on Sundays, if weather permits, with heavy delays probable.
